In the 10th match minute, Taverham FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Massem Basrai to maneuver through the defense. Shashi Bawa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bhadrajatika Shetty in the 15th minute. Bhadrajatika Shetty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shashi Bawa having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Bhadrajatika Shetty got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Taverham FC's Indumathy Sharma got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Bhadrajatika Shetty came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Hinckley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bhadrajatika Shetty couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute Dudhanatha Sinha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kisalaya Vadhwa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shashi Bawa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohal Sarang in the 36th minute of play. During the 36th minute of the match Massem Basrai completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Massem Basrai a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Massem Basrai hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. If Mohal Sarang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the match, Taverham FC's Dudhanatha Sinha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kisalaya Vadhwa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dudhanatha Sinha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kisalaya Vadhwa having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mohal Sarang to make the kick off. If Bhadrajatika Shetty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
