Bodhinmanas Varma started the match with the kick off. The audience was convinced that Bodhinmanas Varma's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Apiguna Thind was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Aditeya Dalvi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Bury's goalkeeper Aditeya Dalvi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jvalanmani Dalvi. Bury's Sudhir Beesla got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bodhinmanas Varma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apiguna Thind having to interfere. Hemanya Gopalkrishnan hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, Bodhinmanas Varma notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of AS GUWAHATI's Apiguna Thind. Apiguna Thind was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jvalanmani Dalvi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AS GUWAHATI's Kanksita Kalirai got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kanksita Kalirai to strike the kick off in the second half. Apiguna Thind showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bodhinmanas Varma in the 54th minute of the match. Apiguna Thind made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bodhinmanas Varma in the 56th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Prafel Yeddyurappa managed to get in a good position for a shot. AS GUWAHATI's supporters rose to their feet, but Prafel Yeddyurappa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aditeya Dalvi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Apiguna Thind showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bodhinmanas Varma in the 68th minute of the match. Hemanya Gopalkrishnan was shown his second yellow card after 69 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 69 played minutes AS GUWAHATI got a freekick which was hit by Hemanya Gopalkrishnan. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Sudhir Beesla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bury's supporters rose to their feet, but Sudhir Beesla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apiguna Thind breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AS GUWAHATI's Apiguna Thind played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bodhinmanas Varma in the 76th minute of play. After 77 played minutes AS GUWAHATI got a freekick which was hit by Prafel Yeddyurappa. Apiguna Thind took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bodhinmanas Varma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sudhir Beesla's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Apiguna Thind firmly grabbed it by the left post. Apiguna Thind showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bodhinmanas Varma in the 84th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bury's zone, Jvalanmani Dalvi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aditeya Dalvi came out of the goal and Jvalanmani Dalvi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brahmananda Vadhwa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aditeya Dalvi having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Jvalanmani Dalvi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS GUWAHATI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jvalanmani Dalvi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The AS GUWAHATI fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bury had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
