Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Falmouth's Ambupati Sohota started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Devavarman Sangma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sultan Vishveshwara in the 4th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sultan Vishveshwara in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. Ajavindu Kattaura's late challenge caught a Old Leake's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Devavarman Sangma came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Old Leake's Kasirama Rathore. But to his dismay, Kasirama Rathore quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Heman Chawla charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Heman Chawla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Falmouth booed when Old Leake was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heman Chawla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cidambara Raja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bhavjeet Pandey having to interfere. Kasirama Rathore in the 48thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Devavarman Sangma, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sultan Vishveshwara couldn't finish the play. Bhupa Thakkur ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bhupa Thakkur made a great header on Falmouth's corner, it was just that Old Leake's Bhavjeet Pandey managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kasirama Rathore in the 73rd minute of play forced Falmouth's goalkeeper Devavarman Sangma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Devavarman Sangma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kasirama Rathore, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute.
