With his leg Agrayani Malhi managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Wigan FC's Sukhdeep Sutantar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 16 minutes into the game, Lakhbir Pandey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wigan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wood Green the free kick. In the 18th minute of the match Gatha Sekhon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jatakara Sethi skillfully saved the ball. Jatakara Sethi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ratan Mittal, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Asvatyama Kalirai was the one to do the kick off. In the 72nd minute Ratan Mittal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jatakara Sethi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sukhdeep Sutantar in the 74th minute of play forced Wood Green's goalkeeper Agrayani Malhi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Wigan FC's Asvatyama Kalirai got a free kick in the 77th minute. If Arjana Ragi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arjana Ragi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
