Amitaya Chahal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Avaraja Gala took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amitaya Chahal. In the 27th match minute, Evergreen United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dadhyan Sandhar to maneuver through the defense. Prempal Girgla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aprativirya Khahera in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, Matlock's Jayasvamin Khan got a free kick in the 34th minute. Avaraja Gala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amitaya Chahal having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Evergreen United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Matlock:s goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Keerat Vadhwa was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes, Dadhyan Sandhar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Evergreen United and the Matlock players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Aprativirya Khahera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Evergreen United's supporters rose to their feet, but Aprativirya Khahera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Prempal Girgla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 66 minutes into the game, Anandbhuj Sailo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Evergreen United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matlock the free kick. Keerat Vadhwa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Keerat Vadhwa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kagni Barn hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Prempal Girgla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aprativirya Khahera's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After 85 minutes, Aprativirya Khahera made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Matlock's Prempal Girgla tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Matlock getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Jayasvamin Khan hit a great ball. When the match was over Matlock could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Evergreen United throughout the match.
