Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Aryaman Khanna kicked off to start the match. Preston's Ranjith Dambria got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Southend's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Ranjith Dambria scored to the left of an out of position Ardra Reel, making the score, 1-0. In the 8th minute Aryaman Khanna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isat Saxena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute of the match, Shyam Nahal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ardra Reel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Ranjith Dambria took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Ardra Reel to make any attempt to save it. Bhrajathu Kelkar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Isat Saxena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isat Saxena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hita Jha in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Southend's goal looked a bit too open when Camikara Rama came free, but Ardra Reel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Preston's Camikara Rama ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ardra Reel. Ardra Reel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. The throw-in from Cakaraka Boparai in the 30th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Southend's Hariharan Akhtar. 31 minutes into the match, Southend's goal looked a bit too open when Shyam Nahal came free, but Ardra Reel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aravini Gore's late challenge caught a Preston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aravini Gore helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute Camikara Rama shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ardra Reel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ranjith Dambria to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Southend defense, Ranjith Dambria kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ardra Reel. The Southend fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ardra Reel should have stopped the shot. Shyam Nahal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isat Saxena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bhrajathu Kelkar in the 61st minute. Hariharan Akhtar hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Ardra Reel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ranjith Dambria, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Bhrajathu Kelkar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Isat Saxena made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bhrajathu Kelkar got free with Isat Saxena in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ardra Reel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camikara Rama, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Preston's Isat Saxena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aryaman Khanna in the 83rd minute of play. Ardra Reel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Camikara Rama's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Isat Saxena made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Bhrajathu Kelkar sent off a good shot on target. Bhrajathu Kelkar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Isat Saxena made a huge save. When Ranjith Dambria fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Preston's protests and gave Ranjith Dambria a yellow card for diving instead. Ardra Reel came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Preston's Shyam Nahal. But to his dismay, Shyam Nahal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. After a rather tough play, Southend's Bhrajathu Kelkar got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 96th minute of the match Cakaraka Boparai shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ardra Reel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Preston fans cheered their team off the field, for while Southend had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
