After having played for 4 minutes, Amarajota Jain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NAGALAND FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amarajota Jain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Narinderpal Deol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Srinivasan Ojha in the 6th minute of play. Narinderpal Deol didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diksin Bajwa went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Janardan Yeddyurappa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Srinivasan Ojha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narinderpal Deol having to interfere. Narinderpal Deol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diksin Bajwa in the 19th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amarajota Jain got free with Kashmir Mendes in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Geddington getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Natraj Attwal hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Amarajota Jain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute, Janardan Yeddyurappa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Narinderpal Deol was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Natraj Attwal's late challenge caught a NAGALAND FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Natraj Attwal helped the player get up and apologised. Geddington's Kashmir Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Geddington from getting a goal against them. Narinderpal Deol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diksin Bajwa in the 41st minute of play. In the 44th minute Srinivasan Ojha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narinderpal Deol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Narinderpal Deol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Srinivasan Ojha in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diksin Bajwa made a kick off. NAGALAND FC's Narinderpal Deol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save NAGALAND FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Srinivasan Ojha in the 53rd minute of play forced NAGALAND FC's goalkeeper Narinderpal Deol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes NAGALAND FC got a freekick which was hit by Vasantha Rathod. 70 minutes into the game, Janardan Yeddyurappa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Narinderpal Deol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 74th minute, Lall Chohan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Narinderpal Deol was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Natraj Attwal. Narinderpal Deol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Srinivasan Ojha in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Geddington booed when NAGALAND FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Biswaroop Pradhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narinderpal Deol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diksin Bajwa, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute of the match Geddington got a corner. NAGALAND FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Srinivasan Ojha ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 81st minute, Duleep Bansal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Janardan Yeddyurappa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Narinderpal Deol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, NAGALAND FC's goal looked a bit too open when Duleep Bansal came free, but Narinderpal Deol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Geddington's Srinivasan Ojha slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Narinderpal Deol. That made the score 0-7 after 90 minutes of play. The supporters of Geddington booed when NAGALAND FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lall Chohan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the match, NAGALAND FC's goalkeeper Narinderpal Deol had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Janardan Yeddyurappa. Geddington's Duleep Bansal suffered a fractured collar bone after 94 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Addana Sodhi charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Addana Sodhi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Addana Sodhi hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Geddington left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than NAGALAND FC.
