Saphan Kwai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thanasit Morpeak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 36 minutes, Kriangkrai Boonmart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olympique de Marseille and the Saphan Kwai players grew even worse after the yellow card. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Olympique de Marseille fans cheered their team off the field, for while Saphan Kwai had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
