The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dimas Karnawan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 8thth minute, Bono Subagdja skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 10 minutes into the match, PSS Candibaru's Irza Widianto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hadi Gustomi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in PSS Candibaru's zone, Bagus Murtopo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bono Subagdja came out of the goal and Bagus Murtopo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hadi Gustomi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Syauqi Brotoseno in the 17th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Irza Widianto in the 33rd minute of play forced Patemanan's goalkeeper Hadi Gustomi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PSS Candibaru's Syauqi Brotoseno got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Syauqi Brotoseno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Syauqi Brotoseno sped through Patemanan's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hadi Gustomi. The Patemanan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. PSS Candibaru were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bagus Murtopo to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Syauqi Brotoseno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 54th minute Syauqi Brotoseno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hadi Gustomi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Irza Widianto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Syauqi Brotoseno in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hadi Gustomi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Irza Widianto struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Hadi Gustomi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PSS Candibaru. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bagus Murtopo in the 72nd minute of play forced PSS Candibaru's goalkeeper Bono Subagdja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute Dimas Karnawan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bono Subagdja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salman Pandelaki took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hadi Gustomi. Patemanan's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. PSS Candibaru's Bono Subagdja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bagus Murtopo in the 85th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bagus Murtopo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bono Subagdja was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in PSS Candibaru's zone, Dimas Karnawan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bono Subagdja came out of the goal and Dimas Karnawan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 97 minutes into the match, Patemanan's goalkeeper Hadi Gustomi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hendrawan Kaisiepo. PSS Candibaru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
