SURABAYA FC's Agus Rumaropen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save SURABAYA FC from getting a goal against them. Nono Ramadhan in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Agus Rumaropen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A long shot from Hendra Suarlan in the 19th minute of play was well struck, but Agus Rumaropen made a really good save at the right post. Si Jago Merah's Damion Bannatyne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Winarto Mangkudikusumah in the 21st minute of play. If Winarto Mangkudikusumah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Fajar Wibowo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damion Bannatyne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hendra Suarlan hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SURABAYA FC's zone, Firdaus Cahyono Putro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agus Rumaropen came out of the goal and Firdaus Cahyono Putro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zakaria Lurahman hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. When Fance Iswanto came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Si Jago Merah fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fance Iswanto couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute Gilang Malaiholo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agus Rumaropen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fajar Wibowo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damion Bannatyne having to interfere. With a little luck, SURABAYA FC's Agus Rumaropen got control of the ball when Nono Ramadhan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nono Ramadhan to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 67th minute, Nono Ramadhan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Agus Rumaropen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Pinilih Juhana fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SURABAYA FC's protests and gave Pinilih Juhana a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SURABAYA FC's Pinilih Juhana got a free kick in the 74th minute. Agus Rumaropen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nono Ramadhan in the 75th minute of play. Agus Rumaropen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Firdaus Cahyono Putro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Nono Ramadhan managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Firdaus Cahyono Putro in the 88th minute of play forced SURABAYA FC's goalkeeper Agus Rumaropen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Si Jago Merah's Gilang Malaiholo got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nono Ramadhan scored 2-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Agus Rumaropen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Si Jago Merah's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
