In the 20thth minute Heru Asmadirja got a great chance to score trying to place the ball in the top left corner, but Ceppy Soeprapto was prepared and efficiently stopped the ball from getting in. Putra Muarakiawai's Ceppy Soeprapto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Putra Muarakiawai from getting a goal against them. Engkos Alaydrus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaini Razak, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Heru Asmadirja could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Ceppy Soeprapto made a huge save. When Eka Prabaya came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the AREMA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eka Prabaya couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute Zaini Razak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Engkos Alaydrus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Putra Muarakiawai booed when AREMA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jayeng Ardiansyah didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 47 played minutes Putra Muarakiawai got a freekick which was hit by Ireng Meringgi. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Putra Muarakiawai's Amri Mujahidin got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Zaini Razak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heru Asmadirja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zaini Razak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Engkos Alaydrus having to interfere. During the 80th minute of the match Amri Mujahidin completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Amri Mujahidin a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Amri Mujahidin hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Engkos Alaydrus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaini Razak, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Francis Lumbanraja received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Engkos Alaydrus came out and tried to block the shot, but Francis Lumbanraja slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 87th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Putra Muarakiawai's Francis Lumbanraja sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Engkos Alaydrus narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, AREMA FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ireng Meringgi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Dharma Zumardi's late challenge caught a Putra Muarakiawai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dharma Zumardi helped the player get up and apologised. Dharma Zumardi hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
