Darius Poesponegoro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joni Rangkuti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Farhat Suhastra in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joni Rangkuti saved Putra Ponrang from getting behind. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Danang Mulyadi sped through Putra Ponrang's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joni Rangkuti. A collision led to Putra Ponrang getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Anthony Garmana hit a great ball. Pawel Poremba scored 1-4 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joni Rangkuti, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pawel Poremba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Joni Rangkuti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Farhat Suhastra in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joni Rangkuti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Farhat Suhastra came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Couple Pi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Farhat Suhastra couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Danang Mulyadi to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Putra Ponrang's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Farhat Suhastra fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Joni Rangkuti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jamal Pangaribuan hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the match, Couple Pi's Danang Mulyadi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joni Rangkuti narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
