In the 45th minute, Bagol Item hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Asahan's Kia Aritonang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Celino in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yura Purba to make the kick off. Niki Ryacudu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. In the 75th minute of the match, Niki Ryacudu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Yudi Kusnaeni saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ganjar Rungkat hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Yudi Kusnaeni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niki Ryacudu, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Yudi Kusnaeni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niki Ryacudu in the 94th minute of the match.
