Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Phan Mai made the kick off and thus started the match. When Đặng Quang came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Quãng Ngãi F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Đặng Quang couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Phu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Quãng Ngãi F.C. booed when Vi Thanh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Xuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Đặng Quang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quãng Ngãi F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Đặng Quang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Minh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Quãng Ngãi F.C.'s Phan Thuy got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Phan Thuy came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Quãng Ngãi F.C. fans jumped to their feet. Phan Mai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Nguyễn Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Võ Hong Minh in the 32nd minute of play forced Quãng Ngãi F.C.'s goalkeeper Nguyễn Nga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Phan Thuy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vi Thanh's Nguyễn Loc couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 40th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Quãng Ngãi F.C.. Nguyễn Loc's late challenge caught a Vi Thanh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Loc helped the player get up and apologised. If Võ Hong Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Võ Hong Minh made a kick off. Võ Hong Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 61 minutes, Trương Quang Thanh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vi Thanh and the Quãng Ngãi F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 61 played minutes Vi Thanh got a freekick which was hit by Trương Quang Thanh. Nguyễn Minh was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Phan Mai. Nguyễn Tuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Nguyễn Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Minh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Đặng Quang went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Phan Thuy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quãng Ngãi F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Phan Thuy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Phu scored 2-2 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Nga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dương Phuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Minh having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Phan Mai reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nguyễn Minh. The goal made the score 2-3. Nguyễn Phu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Nguyễn Nga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Quãng Ngãi F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vi Thanh throughout the match.
