Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Triệu Lien kicked off to start the match. Triệu Nhật Minh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in NMT's zone, Nguyễn Dung stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Duong came out of the goal and Nguyễn Dung tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Minh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Duong having to interfere. Nguyễn Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Nguyễn Duong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Triệu Lien took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Nguyễn Thai to make any attempt to save it. Nguyễn Minh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute, Nguyễn Dung got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Triệu Lien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Nguyễn Thai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-1 became the score in the 28th minute when Nguyễn Dung elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nguyễn Duong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Dung, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37thth minute of the game Triệu Lien who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Son La's Nguyễn Thai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Son La's La Thi got a free kick in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, NMT's Triệu Cong Vinh broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Dung to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, NMT's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Dung came free, but Nguyễn Duong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Triệu Lien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Nguyễn Thai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When NMT's Triệu Lien in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Son La's goalie prevented a goal. Nguyễn Duong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Minh in the 89th minute. Nguyễn Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Son La's Nguyễn Dung got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Son La's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
