Vũ Thuyet charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vũ Thuyet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. My Tho's Nguyễn Phong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đặng Hung in the 17th minute of play. Đặng Hung's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Phong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Phuc during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
When Nguyễn Quang fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored My Tho's protests and gave Nguyễn Quang a yellow card for diving instead. 58 minutes into the game, Lê Hanh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EscFail United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave My Tho the free kick. A collision led to EscFail United getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Lê Hanh hit a great ball. Đặng Hung fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Phong having to interfere. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind EscFail United's goalkeeper Nguyễn Tan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Huy during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The My Tho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Huy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nguyễn Phong. Nguyễn Huy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Đặng Hung fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Phong having to interfere. If Đặng Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Đặng Hung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
