In the 4th minute Trần Tuan Hoang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Ho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 6th minute by Trần Tuan Hoang got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Nguyễn Quang Thanh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Bien having to interfere. Dương Mai hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Duong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Ho having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Ca Mau's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Duong came free, but Lê Ho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Ho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Duong in the 21st minute of the match. In the 29th match minute, Cao Lanh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phạm Bay to maneuver through the defense. Hoàng Nam, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ca Mau's zone, Nguyễn Duong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Ho came out of the goal and Nguyễn Duong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 35 minutes into the match, Ca Mau's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Duong came free, but Lê Ho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phùng Phong kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Nguyễn Duong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Duong to make the kick off. If Nguyễn Duong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 62nd minute, Nguyễn Duong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Quang Thanh who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Lê Bien when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nguyễn Quang Thanh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dương Mai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Ho having to interfere. Lê Ho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Duong in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ca Mau's goalkeeper Lê Ho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Trần Tuan Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Huỳnh Minh-ha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Cao Lanh's Phạm Ho got a free kick in the 95th minute. Nguyễn Duong charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Duong the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th minute, Nguyễn Duong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ca Mau eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
