When Phan Nam fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tan An's protests and gave Phan Nam a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd match minute, Tan An was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Nam to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as HOANG ANH FC's Trần Tuan Hoang slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lê Thi. That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. Phan Tuan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Nam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trần Tuan Hoang in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Thi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Trần Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Hungs short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Lê Thi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tan An's Trần Nam got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 17 minutes, Trần Nam mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tan An and the HOANG ANH FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 20 minutes, Trần Nam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tan An's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Nam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Trần Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Thi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Trần Tuan Hoang showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 27 minute of play. Tan An's Lê Thi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Tan An from getting a goal against them. 37 minutes into the match, HOANG ANH FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Thi came free, but Phan Tuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trần Nam hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, HOANG ANH FC's Ngô Duong got a free kick in the 45th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Tan An's Trần Diem broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. In the 48th minute Nguyễn Thi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phan Tuan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the match had been going on for 56 minutes, Tan An's Trần Diem got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Phan Tuan. Phan Nam hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Trần Tuan Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Thi having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Tan An's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hung came free, but Lê Thi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Hung might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lê Thi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Hung ran back to his position shaking his head. Nguyễn Thi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, Tan An's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hung came free, but Lê Thi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute, Nguyễn Hung ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lê Thi was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After having played for 82 minutes, Trần Tuan Hoang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HOANG ANH FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Tuan Hoang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Hung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Lê Thi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Tan An's Nguyễn Thi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Phan Tuan. That made the score 3-2 after 89 minutes of play. HOANG ANH FC's Phan Tuan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Thi in the 93rd minute of play. Many of Tan An's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Tan An may have spent more time on the ball, but HOANG ANH FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
