Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Hung Yen's Nguyễn Thi Ngoc started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Hung Yen got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Viet. Nguyễn Chi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Đỗ Thi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Ngô Hoa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Hung Yen's Đỗ Thi. Đỗ Thi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nguyễn Duong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hoàng Thanh Bình couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Duong's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Huỳnh Thi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st match minute, Quang Ninh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phạm Tu to maneuver through the defense. Huỳnh Thi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nguyễn Thi Ngoc showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 42 minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Ngô Hoa made the kick off in the second half. After 58 minutes of play, Hung Yen's Nguyễn Duong made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Huỳnh Thi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hung Yen's Đỗ Thi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ngô Hoa in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hung Yen's Huỳnh Loc got a free kick in the 76th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Hoàng Thanh Bình managed to get in a good position for a shot.
