Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mai Duc started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the game, Phạm Cadeo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lê Duy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mai Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Trần Van Tai Em tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lê Duy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Hoang in the 11th minute of play. Phạm Cadeo struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Lê Duy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for viet nam. If Phạm Cadeo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Duy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phạm Cadeo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Trần Tuan Hoang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Viet Tri's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Cadeo came free, but Lê Duy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Duy came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by viet nam's Trần Hoang. But to his dismay, Trần Hoang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Trần Hoang hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. viet nam's Phạm Cadeo got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mai Duc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

After a rather tough play, Viet Tri's Trần Duc got a free kick in the 55th minute. Trần Van Tai Em showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Duc, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Trần Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Duy having to interfere. With a little luck, Viet Tri's Lê Duy got control of the ball when Trần Hoang tried to sneak it across the goal line. Phạm Cadeo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Lê Duy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Viet Tri's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Cadeo came free, but Lê Duy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Nguyễn Van Tai Em hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 73 played minutes viet nam got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Lan. Trần Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Van Tai Em having to interfere. Trần Duc succeeded in the game's 77th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Trần Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viet Tri's Lê Duy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Cadeo in the 86th minute of play. Trần Van Tai Em showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Duc in the 89th minute of the match. Mai Duc's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trần Van Tai Em read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. If Mai Duc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
