Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Vương Cuc took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Nguyễn Hieu Ngan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute Nguyễn Hieu Ngan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hoang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Hung fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Hoang having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Hieu Ngan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lê Hoang. Long Xuyen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Hieu Ngan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Long Xuyen's Lê Hoang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Hieu Ngan in the 32nd minute of play. Nguyễn Hung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Lê Hoang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Hung's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lê Hoang read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Lê Hoang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hung, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lê Hoang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Hung in the 38th minute of the match. Nguyễn Hung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Lê Hoang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Nguyễn Hieu Ngan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hoang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Hung in the 46th minute of play forced Long Xuyen's goalkeeper Lê Hoang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Hieu Ngan to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Long Xuyen got a freekick which was hit by Trần Hieu. 52 minutes into the match, Long Xuyen's goalkeeper Lê Hoang had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Hung. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Hieu Ngan in the 57th minute of play forced Long Xuyen's goalkeeper Lê Hoang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, Nguyễn Hung got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Long Xuyen's zone, Nguyễn Hung stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Hoang came out of the goal and Nguyễn Hung tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nguyễn Hieu Ngan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the game, Trần Hieu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Long Xuyen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vietnam Saigon the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Trần Hieu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vietnam Saigon's Nguyễn Hieu Ngan got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lê Hoang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Hung in the 77th minute. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Lê Hoang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vietnam Saigon. With his leg Lê Hoang managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Vietnam Saigon's Nguyễn Hung fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nguyễn Hung recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Hung's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Lê Hoang skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 96th minute, Vietnam Saigon's Nguyễn Hieu Ngan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. When the match was over Vietnam Saigon could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Long Xuyen throughout the match.
