Soc Trang's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Diem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Géza Kalmár breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, Đắk Lắk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Duc came free, but Géza Kalmár reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Đắk Lắk FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Soc Trang were winning 0-1.

The ball had pretty good speed, but Géza Kalmár firmly grabbed it by the left post. With an all-out effort, Soc Trang's Géza Kalmár threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nguyễn Anh Hung, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Géza Kalmár made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Nguyễn Duc sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Soc Trang had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
