Phan Quang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Loc having to interfere. In the 11thth minute of the game Võ Lam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cheo Reo's Lê Loc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cheo Reo's goalkeeper Lê Loc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 14th minute Phan Quang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Loc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phan Quang took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lê Loc. Lê Loc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Hồ Huy hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Xiaoxiaoyang's Võ Lam got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Võ Chi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Phan Quang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Võ Lam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lê Loc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Xiaoxiaoyang's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hieu Ngan came free, but Lê Thuyet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute, one of Cheo Reo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cheo Reo. Lê Loc had in the 35thth minute some difficulties stopping Võ Thuyet's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Xiaoxiaoyang's goalkeeper Lê Thuyet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Võ Chi. In the 38th minute Võ Lam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Loc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phan Quang took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lê Loc. Lê Loc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Nguyễn Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Cheo Reo's Huỳnh Thuy got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 46thth minute of the game Phan Quang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cheo Reo's Lê Loc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Võ Lam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Cheo Reo's goalkeeper Lê Loc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phan Quang. Lê Thuyet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Hieu Ngan, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. With his leg Lê Loc managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Xiaoxiaoyang's Nguyễn Quang fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 75th minute Nguyễn Hieu Ngan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Thuyet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Võ Lam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Lê Loc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Võ Lam came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Xiaoxiaoyang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Võ Lam couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute, Nguyễn Hieu Ngan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lê Thuyet was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Lê Loc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Võ Lam in the 96th minute of play.
