Phạm Nhật Minh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Hieu made a huge save. In the 8th minute, Trần Duc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Loc lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Nguyễn Hieu. Nguyễn Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Hieu having to interfere. Huỳnh Khoi's late challenge caught a Nguyen Gia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Huỳnh Khoi helped the player get up and apologised. Huỳnh Khoi hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Huỳnh Khoi kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Nguyễn Duc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huỳnh Khoi in the 29th minute of the match. Nguyễn Duc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Hieu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Hieu in the 32nd minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Nam Dinh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Hieu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Loc. Nguyễn Duc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Huỳnh Khoi went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Nguyễn Hieu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Nga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Nam Dinh getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Đinh Van Quyen hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, Trần Dung notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Nguyen Gia's Nguyễn Duc. Nguyễn Duc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nguyễn Duc came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Nam Dinh's Trần Duc. But to his dismay, Trần Duc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Nguyen Gia's Phạm Nhật Minh got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 55 minutes into the game, Phạm Nhật Minh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Nguyễn Hieu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Huỳnh Khoi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 58 minutes had been played. A collision led to Nam Dinh getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Huỳnh Khoi hit a great ball. In the 61st minute, Đinh Van Quyen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Loc in the 68th minute of play forced Nam Dinh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Hieu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Tuan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Nguyen Gia's Nguyễn Nga quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Đinh Van Quyen hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the game, Trần Dung was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nam Dinh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nguyen Gia the free kick. Trần Dung kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. When Trần Dung came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Nam Dinh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Dung couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute Nguyễn Loc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Hieu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Nguyen Gia's zone, Đinh Van Quyen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Duc came out of the goal and Đinh Van Quyen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 89 played minutes Nguyen Gia got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Nga. Nam Dinh's Nguyễn Hieu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Nga in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute Nguyễn Tuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Hieu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 97 minutes into the game, Trần Duc cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-4. Nguyễn Duc was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
