Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Nam Dinh booed when Cheo Reo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phan Than didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lê Bien took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lê Loc. Cheo Reo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cheo Reo's Lê Nhật Minh got a free kick in the 6th minute. 7 minutes into the game, Nam Dinh's Đinh Van Quyen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lê Loc made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 12th minute, Cheo Reo's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Trần Duc fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Trần Duc struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Lê Loc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nam Dinh. After a rather tough play, Cheo Reo's Nguyễn Van Tai Em got a free kick in the 21st minute. Nam Dinh's Nguyễn Hieu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Lan in the 26th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Nam Dinh got a freekick which was hit by Huỳnh Khoi. In the 28th match minute, Nam Dinh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Dung to maneuver through the defense. Võ Chi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Hieu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 40th minute, Hồ Huy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đinh Van Quyen in the 46th minute of play forced Cheo Reo's goalkeeper Lê Loc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Đinh Van Quyen was the one to do the kick off. Cheo Reo's Nguyễn Hieu Ngan got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 56 played minutes Nam Dinh got a freekick which was hit by Huỳnh Khoi. In the 59th minute, Đinh Van Quyen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Nam Dinh's Đinh Van Quyen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lê Loc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Cheo Reo's zone, Đinh Van Quyen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Loc came out of the goal and Đinh Van Quyen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute Nguyễn Hieu Ngan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Hieu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nam Dinh's Đinh Van Quyen in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cheo Reo's goalie prevented a goal. In the 70th minute Đinh Van Quyen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Loc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lê Loc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đinh Van Quyen in the 72nd minute of play. Đinh Van Quyen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Loc having to interfere. Nguyễn Hieu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Hieu Ngan in the 80th minute of the match. Huỳnh Khoi's late challenge caught a Cheo Reo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Huỳnh Khoi helped the player get up and apologised. After 81 played minutes Nam Dinh got a freekick which was hit by Huỳnh Khoi. An unexpected shot in the 82nd minute by Võ Chi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Huỳnh Khoi was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Nam Dinh getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Huỳnh Khoi hit a great ball. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Nguyễn Hieu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Hieu Ngan in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Hieu prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
