Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Phan Thi Ngoc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Thanks to some nice moves Nguyễn Lam could shoot a difficult shot in the 13th minute, which Lương Nghiêm-Minh however easily saved by the left post. Phan Thi Ngoc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phạm Thien, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Hung Yen's Lương Nghiêm-Minh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Hung Yen from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Hung Yen's zone, Phan Dung stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lương Nghiêm-Minh came out of the goal and Phan Dung tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Hung Yen's Lương Nghiêm-Minh got control of the ball when Nguyễn Lam tried to sneak it across the goal line. Phạm Pham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Long Tan's zone, Phạm Thien stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phan Thi Ngoc came out of the goal and Phạm Thien tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Phạm Thien ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Phan Thi Ngoc was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 37th minute Phan Dung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lương Nghiêm-Minh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Long Tan's Lương Nghiêm-Minh threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Phan Dung, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Long Tan's Phan Thi Ngoc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Thien in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Phan Dung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lương Nghiêm-Minh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Lam in the 68th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Phạm Pham managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hung Yen's supporters rose to their feet, but Phạm Pham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phan Thi Ngoc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phan Dung in the 73rd minute of play forced Hung Yen's goalkeeper Lương Nghiêm-Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute Lê Hieu suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Phạm Thien charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phạm Thien the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Phạm Thien kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Nguyễn Lam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Long Tan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Lam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lương Nghiêm-Minh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Lam in the 88th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Phạm Pham got free with Phan Thi Ngoc in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Phạm Pham who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Phan Thi Ngoc when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 95 played minutes Long Tan got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Quang Thanh. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hung Yen eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
