The audience thought a goal was coming when Lê Pham got free with Hồ Dung in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the match, Ha Dong's goal looked a bit too open when Bùi Viet came free, but Nguyễn Nguyet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Nguyet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bùi Viet, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Lý Hoang ran back to his position shaking his head. 80 minutes into the game, Phùng Thuy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ha Dong's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cao Bang the free kick. In the 83rd minute, Phạm Tuan had to leave the field with a concussion. Đỗ Mai's late challenge caught a Cao Bang's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Đỗ Mai helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cao Bang booed when Ha Dong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phan Diem charged in rather forcefully in the 98th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phan Diem the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Phan Diem hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match.
