Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 12th minute, Citizen's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vũ Ho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, Citizen's Nguyễn Van Tai Em got control of the ball when Trần Thanh tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Bien Hoa booed when Citizen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Trần Thanh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Van Tai Em was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Citizen's goal looked a bit too open when Vũ Ho came free, but Nguyễn Van Tai Em reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bùi Dung during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 25 played minutes Bien Hoa got a freekick which was hit by Bùi Dung. In the 26th minute of the match Hoàng Huynh Duc shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Dung showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nguyễn Dung. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc ran back to his position shaking his head. After 33 minutes, Trần Duc made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Dung tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 36 minutes into the match, Trần Duc notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Bien Hoa's Nguyễn Dung. Nguyễn Dung was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Vũ Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Vũ Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trần Duc was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th minute, Bùi Dung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Trần Duc, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 64 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Nguyễn Dung was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Triệu Bay hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Trần Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Dung having to interfere. After having played for 78 minutes, Nguyễn Thi Ngoc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Citizen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Thi Ngoc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bien Hoa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Citizen the free kick. In the 85th minute, Trần Thanh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Dung came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Citizen's Nguyễn Thi Ngoc. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Thi Ngoc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Nguyễn Thi Ngoc managed to get in a good position for a shot. Citizen's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Thi Ngoc was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Dung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 95 played minutes Bien Hoa got a freekick which was hit by Vũ Ho.
