An unexpected shot in the 84th minute by Phạm Nghiêm-Minh got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Ngô Thuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 91 minutes, Nguyễn Tuan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Many of Tuyen Quang's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Tuyen Quang may have spent more time on the ball, but Ca Mau were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
