With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Nam was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Long Tan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chau Doc the free kick. Chau Doc's Phạm Phuoc got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. After a rather tough play, Chau Doc's Nguyễn Lien got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute, Lê Tu sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Chau Doc's Trần Dung didn't even have to move. The Long Tan supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Chau Doc's performance. The match ended with a win for Chau Doc.
