Đoàn Dung could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Bùi Binh made a huge save. Bùi Binh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Ritchell, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Phan Thiet's Bùi Binh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Ritchell in the 9th minute of play. Phan Thiet's Bùi Binh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Phan Thiet from getting a goal against them. Nguyễn Ritchell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bùi Binh having to interfere. The supporters of Ca Mau booed when Phan Thiet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Dung didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lê Bay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Huynh Duc in the 29th minute of play. Bùi Binh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Ritchell in the 34th minute of the match. Phan Thiet's Bùi Binh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Ritchell in the 37th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Ritchell to make the kick off. Phạm Hanh charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phạm Hanh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nguyễn Huynh Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Bay having to interfere. When Lê Duy fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Phan Thiet's protests and gave Lê Duy a yellow card for diving instead. After 83 played minutes Phan Thiet got a freekick which was hit by Lê Duy. After a rather tough play, Phan Thiet's Lê Dung got a free kick in the 85th minute. Bùi Binh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Đoàn Dung, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đoàn Dung in the 88th minute of play forced Phan Thiet's goalkeeper Bùi Binh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Huynh Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bùi Binh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Đoàn Dung, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Phan Thiet players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ca Mau.
