Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Phan Rang-Thap Cham's Võ Ritchell started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ngô Hoai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lý Nga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Võ Ritchell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Tho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Quang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Võ Teo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Tho having to interfere. If Lý Nga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Thai Binh booed when Phan Rang-Thap Cham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Thien didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes Thai Binh got a freekick which was hit by Trần Tuan Hoang. If Võ Ritchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Thai Binh fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! Ngô Hoai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Quang in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Nguyễn Quang made the kick off in the second half. Võ Ritchell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Nguyễn Tho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Võ Ritchell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58thth minute of the game Võ Teo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thai Binh's Nguyễn Tho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 58 played minutes Thai Binh got a freekick which was hit by Trần Tuan Hoang. When Võ Teo came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Phan Rang-Thap Cham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Võ Teo couldn't finish the play. In the 61st match minute, Thai Binh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lưu Hong Minh to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Phan Rang-Thap Cham's Phan Tho tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Tho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Võ Ritchell, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. If Võ Teo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Lý Nga came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Thai Binh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lý Nga couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd minute of the match Nguyễn Van Tai Em sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ngô Hoai skillfully saved the ball. When Đào Chi fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thai Binh's protests and gave Đào Chi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Đào Chi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute Võ Ritchell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Tho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Tho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Võ Teo in the 93rd minute of the match. Võ Teo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Tho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
