After 34 minutes, Nguyễn Huy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the haohan and the Phan Rang-Thap Cham players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th match minute, haohan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Huy to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Phan Rang-Thap Cham's zone, Trần Ho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ngô Hoai came out of the goal and Trần Ho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Phan Rang-Thap Cham's goal looked a bit too open when Huỳnh Thanh Bình came free, but Ngô Hoai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Võ Teo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Võ Teo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phạm Thi Ngoc in the 62nd minute of play forced haohan's goalkeeper Hoàng Tho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phan Tho charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phan Tho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hoàng Tho was a little too slow when Phạm Thi Ngoc got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 85th minute Phạm Thi Ngoc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Tho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trần Ho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phan Rang-Thap Cham played a much better game than haohan and deserved their victory. The haohan players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
