Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Phan Viet got the match started through his kick off. Võ Thien kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Trần Dong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 9 minutes of play, Vinh Long's Trần Thanh Bình made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mai Thuy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Võ Thien took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mai Thuy. Mai Thuy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 19 played minutes Vinh Long got a freekick which was hit by Ngô Thuyet. 20 minutes into the match, Vinh Long's goal looked a bit too open when Phan Viet came free, but Phạm Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Teo charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lê Teo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 21 played minutes Manchester City got a freekick which was hit by Lê Teo. In the 23rd minute, Vinh Long's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lê Teo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Vinh Long's Phạm Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phan Viet in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute, Phan Viet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Phạm Hong was a little too slow when Phan Viet got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-2. Lê Teo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Võ Thien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vinh Long's supporters rose to their feet, but Võ Thien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mai Thuy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Trần Thanh Bình ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mai Thuy was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. If Trần Thanh Bình had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mai Thuy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Võ Thien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Võ Thien to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Vinh Long getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Ngô Thuyet hit a great ball. The supporters of Manchester City booed when Vinh Long was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ngô Thuyet didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Nguyễn Pham shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Phạm Hong showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Võ Thien in the 63rd minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Mai Thuy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trần Dong kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Manchester City's Nguyễn Pham couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 66th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vinh Long. Phan Viet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 72 minutes into the match, Vinh Long's goal looked a bit too open when Lê Teo came free, but Phạm Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the game, Lê Teo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Phạm Hong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Trần Thanh Bình had several of the Manchester City's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 76 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-4 score and a disappointed Mai Thuy as he didn't even see the shot coming. When Manchester City's Phan Viet in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vinh Long's goalie prevented a goal. If Phan Viet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 87th minute of the match Ngô Thuyet completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ngô Thuyet a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Vinh Long getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Ngô Thuyet hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trần Thanh Bình got free with Mai Thuy in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95th minute, Lê Teo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Vinh Long players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
