Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nguyễn Quang kicked off to start the match. Nghiêm Cadeo struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Lê Phong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bắc Ninh. Dong Xoai's Lê Phong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hồ Lien in the 7th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Quang in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Loc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nguyễn Loc came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Dong Xoai's Nguyễn Quang. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Quang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Đặng Loc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th match minute, Bắc Ninh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Dung to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 19 minutes, Đặng Loc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dong Xoai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Đặng Loc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute Hồ Lien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Phong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Bắc Ninh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Loc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Đặng Loc. Lê Huynh Duc charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lê Huynh Duc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 27 played minutes Dong Xoai got a freekick which was hit by Lê Huynh Duc. Hồ Lien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Phong having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Võ Loc during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Dong Xoai booed when Bắc Ninh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Võ Loc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Quang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Bắc Ninh booed when Dong Xoai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Thien didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The tension between the Dong Xoai and the Bắc Ninh players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Dong Xoai getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Đặng Ho hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Nghiêm Cadeo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bắc Ninh's supporters rose to their feet, but Nghiêm Cadeo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Phong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 55th minute, Đặng Ho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the game, Nghiêm Cadeo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lê Phong. Nghiêm Cadeo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Hồ Lien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hồ Lien made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 63rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Lê Phong would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Nguyễn Dung got his second yellow card in the match during the 65th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 70 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Quang had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Loc. Bắc Ninh's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Quang was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The Dong Xoai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dong Xoai's goalkeeper Lê Phong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Bắc Ninh's zone, Nguyễn Quang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Loc came out of the goal and Nguyễn Quang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bắc Ninh's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
