Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Võ Thien started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Kontum's goal looked a bit too open when Võ Thien came free, but Nguyễn Thanh Bình reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Nga in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phạm Hong saved Vinh Long from getting behind. Võ Thien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Thanh Bình having to interfere. If Trần Thanh Bình had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute, Nguyễn Nga made a precise shot to the right of Phạm Hong. Vinh Long's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Nguyễn Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kontum's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Minh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phạm Hong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Nga took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Phạm Hong. Phạm Hong dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Nguyễn Thanh Bình showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Võ Thien in the 27th minute of the match. Vinh Long's Võ Thien got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute of the match Phan Liem shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Phạm Hong showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Trần Thanh Bình sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phạm Hong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Nga in the 39th minute of the match. After 44 played minutes Vinh Long got a freekick which was hit by Ngô Thuyet. Nguyễn Nga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Hong having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Minh made a kick off. Phạm Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Minh, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Nguyễn Minh was extremely unlucky when he, in the 55th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Trần Thanh Bình sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The attack was good, but when Võ Thien in the 60th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Kontum's Nguyễn Thanh Bình played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Thanh Bình in the 63rd minute of play. Nguyễn Thanh Bình showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Thanh Bình in the 64th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Kontum's Nguyễn Chi got a free kick in the 65th minute. Vinh Long's Võ Thien got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Nga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Phạm Hong made a huge save. Võ Thien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Thanh Bình having to interfere. When Trần Thanh Bình came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Vinh Long fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Thanh Bình couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Nga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vinh Long's Võ Thien got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trần Thanh Bình received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Nguyễn Thanh Bình tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Viet's late challenge caught a Vinh Long's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Viet helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes Kontum got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Viet. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Trần Thanh Bình managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vinh Long's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Thanh Bình was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Thanh Bình breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Minh struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Phạm Hong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kontum. Chants of Kontum echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Vinh Long had held the ball for most of the match.
