Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Đặng Ho started the match with the kick off. Nguyễn Cuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Thi in the 5th minute of play. Hoàng Tấn Dũng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Cuc having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Đặng Ho in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Trịnh Dong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trịnh Dong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đặng Ho in the 48th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Tran couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Phan Rang-Thap Cham's Nguyễn Cuc got control of the ball when Hoàng Tấn Dũng tried to sneak it across the goal line.
