Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Mai Minh Phượng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Trương Tu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ha Long's supporters rose to their feet, but Trương Tu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Chi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Kon Tum getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Mai Minh Phượng hit a great ball. Kon Tum's Nguyễn Chi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Kon Tum from getting a goal against them. Nguyễn Chi made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Trương Tu sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ha Long booed when Kon Tum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mai Minh Phượng didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Kon Tum's goalkeeper Nguyễn Chi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Trương Tu. The supporters of Ha Long booed when Kon Tum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Loc didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Trần Ritchell fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nguyễn Chi, passed just outside the right post. If Trần Ritchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Ha Long's Trần Ritchell slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nguyễn Chi. That made the score 1-0 after 31 minutes of play. In the 36th match minute, Ha Long was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Hieu to maneuver through the defense. Trần Nguyet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Phan Loc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lê Nga in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phan Loc saved Ha Long from getting behind. Nguyễn Binh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Nguyễn Chi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Chi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Ritchell, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lê Nga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kon Tum's Nguyễn Chi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lê Teo in the 51st minute of play. Nguyễn Chi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Teo in the 52nd minute of the match. If Lê Nga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute, Lê Teo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trần Nguyet got free with Phan Loc in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the match, Trần Nguyet notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ha Long's Phan Loc. Phan Loc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 63 minutes into the match, Kon Tum's goal looked a bit too open when Trương Tu came free, but Nguyễn Chi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute Trương Tu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Chi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Trần Ritchell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Chi was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Trần Ritchell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ha Long's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Ritchell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Chi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute, Trương Tu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Trương Tu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ha Long had played much better football throughout.
