Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Tu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute, Nghe An's Nguyễn Tan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nguyễn Phong. Nguyễn Phong yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The supporters of Long Xuyên booed when Nghe An was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Phu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Long Xuyên's Vũ Duy couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 8th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Nghe An. After 10 played minutes Long Xuyên got a freekick which was hit by Lê Diem. Dương Bien took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nguyễn Phong. Long Xuyên's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Thuy in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Anh Hung prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Tu in the 14th minute of play forced Nghe An's goalkeeper Lê Anh Hung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Tuan got free with Nguyễn Phong in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nguyễn Tans short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Nguyễn Phong to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 23rd minute of the match, Nguyễn Tan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nguyễn Phong saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Long Xuyên's Lê Thi got a free kick in the 24th minute. Nguyễn Tuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 32 minutes, Nguyễn Tu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Long Xuyên's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Tu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Thuy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lê Anh Hung was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Tan in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Phong saved Long Xuyên from getting behind. Nguyễn Tu took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lê Anh Hung. Lê Anh Hung dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 45th minute, Nguyễn Tuan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Tan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Phong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Tan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Thuy came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lê Anh Hung could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Long Xuyên's Nguyễn Thuy got a free kick in the 56th minute. Nguyễn Tan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Nguyễn Phong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Nghe An's Nguyễn Tuan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Phong narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nguyễn Tan might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nguyễn Phong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Tan ran back to his position shaking his head. Nguyễn Tuan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Phong having to make a save. Nguyễn Phong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Tan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Tuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Nguyễn Phong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Nghe An's goalkeeper Lê Anh Hung had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Thuy. If Nguyễn Tan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Thuy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Lê Anh Hung made a huge save. Nguyễn Phong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Tan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nguyễn Thuy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Tu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Lê Anh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
