Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Tu started the match with the kick off. Nguyễn Phong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Hoang in the 6th minute of the match. In the 6th match minute, Long Xuyên was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ngô Minh to maneuver through the defense. If Nguyễn Thuy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 12 minutes into the match, My name is Vinh's Lê Tuan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Phong narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lê Loc kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Nguyễn Xuan's late challenge caught a Long Xuyên's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Xuan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd match minute, My name is Vinh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Xuan to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the game, one of My name is Vinh:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 34th minute, Long Xuyên got a penalty, and Vũ Duy placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Hieu Ngan in the 37th minute of play forced Long Xuyên's goalkeeper Nguyễn Phong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Thuy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Phan Huỳnh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nguyễn Thuy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute Nguyễn Hieu Ngan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Phong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Hieu Ngan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Long Xuyên getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Vũ Duy hit a great ball. Nguyễn Phong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hieu Ngan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Long Xuyên's Nguyễn Phong got control of the ball when Lê Tuan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lê Thi hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. When Long Xuyên's Nguyễn Thuy in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 68 minutes, Nguyễn Thuy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Long Xuyên's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Thuy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Long Xuyên's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nguyễn Hieu Ngan 71 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. 74 minutes into the match, Long Xuyên's Nguyễn Tu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Phan Huỳnh narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lê Tuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Nguyễn Phong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lê Tuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lê Thi kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, My name is Vinh's Nguyễn Xuan tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 86 minutes of play Long Xuyên's Lê Thi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. When Lê Tuan came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the My name is Vinh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lê Tuan couldn't finish the play.
