Hoàng Van Tai Em's late challenge caught a HaNoi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. HaNoi's Nguyễn Teo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save HaNoi from getting a goal against them. Nguyễn Lan hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Đào Cadeo, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nguyễn Binh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Võ Huynh Duc in the 46th minute of the match. The supporters of HaNoi booed when Thai Nguyen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Lan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Binh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Võ Huynh Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 96 minutes into the match, Thai Nguyen's goalkeeper Nguyễn Binh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Võ Huynh Duc. Võ Huynh Duc struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Nguyễn Binh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HaNoi. The HaNoi players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
