Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Huỳnh Lien took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Việt Nam's Phạm Xuan got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Lê Thuy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Huỳnh Lien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Nguyễn Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Phạm Cong Vinh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Trần Duong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phạm Cong Vinh, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Nguyễn Hung stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Minh-ha's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Việt Nam's goalkeeper Nguyễn Minh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hoàng Hong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Nguyễn Minh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Việt Nam's Trần Thi got a free kick in the 39th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lê Thuy in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Hung prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Hoàng Hong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Huỳnh Lien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trần Minh-ha was the one to do the kick off. Nguyễn Hung made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Lê Thuy sent off a good shot on target. In the 55th minute, Lê Thuy fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nguyễn Hung, passed just outside the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lê Thuy got free with Nguyễn Hung in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huỳnh Lien in the 65th minute of play forced Việt Nam's goalkeeper Nguyễn Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Huỳnh Lien left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PleiKu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When Huỳnh Bien fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PleiKu's protests and gave Huỳnh Bien a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Việt Nam booed when PleiKu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Bien didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Trần Minh-ha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Việt Nam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Minh-ha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Huỳnh Lien in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Minh saved Việt Nam from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Lê Thuy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Việt Nam fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Nguyễn Hoai hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute, Hoàng Hong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 92 played minutes Việt Nam got a freekick which was hit by Lê Thuy. In the 92nd minute, Việt Nam's Lê Thuy fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal, but it hit the crossbar and went out into the crowd. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lê Thuy got free with Nguyễn Hung in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
