Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Phu Ly's Nguyễn Hoai started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Dien Bien Phu's zone, Võ Nam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vũ Diem came out of the goal and Võ Nam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Ritchell struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Nguyễn Teo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dien Bien Phu. After a defensive mix-up in Phu Ly's zone, Nguyễn Ritchell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Teo came out of the goal and Nguyễn Ritchell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Đặng Tuan Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nguyễn Tuyet came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Phu Ly fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Tuyet couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Võ Nam got free with Vũ Diem in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hoàng Thien hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Ritchell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Teo having to interfere. If Hoàng Thien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tạ Lien fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Phu Ly's protests and gave Tạ Lien a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Phu Ly got a freekick which was hit by Tạ Lien. Phu Ly's Nguyễn Teo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đặng Tuan Hoang in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Ritchell was the one to do the kick off. Tạ Lien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Võ Nam in the 55th minute of play forced Dien Bien Phu's goalkeeper Vũ Diem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 1-1 became the score in the 59th minute when Đặng Tuan Hoang elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 63 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Hoai cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Vũ Diem was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 67th minute, Đặng Tuan Hoang made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Teo. Nguyễn Tong kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Nguyễn Hoai took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vũ Diem. Vũ Diem dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Tuyet during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nguyễn Tuyet kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Ritchell in the 84th minute of play forced Phu Ly's goalkeeper Nguyễn Teo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th match minute, Dien Bien Phu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Đặng Tong to maneuver through the defense. If Nguyễn Tong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the game, Hoàng Thien recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nguyễn Teo. Hoàng Thien showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
