After 12 played minutes My Tho got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Minh. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hoang Anh Gia Lai fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! After having played for 41 minutes, Nguyễn Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. My Tho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Minh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phạm Tấn Dũng charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phạm Tấn Dũng the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 89thth minute of the game Lê Duc who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hoang Anh Gia Lai's Nguyễn Nga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Nguyễn Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. My Tho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Minh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Lê Duc came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the My Tho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lê Duc couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. My Tho walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
