Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nguyễn Ritchell took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd match minute, Dien Bien Phu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Đặng Tong to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 7 in the game by Đặng Tuan Hoang from a close distance when the talented Nguyễn Chung managed to make a qualified save. Ca Mau's players were relieved. In the 37th match minute, Ca Mau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hồ Phu to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ca Mau's zone, Đặng Tuan Hoang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Chung came out of the goal and Đặng Tuan Hoang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ca Mau fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 48 minutes, Dien Bien Phu's Đặng Tong got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nguyễn Chung. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
If Trần Minh Phượng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Chung didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Đặng Tuan Hoang went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 63rd minute, Nguyễn Ritchell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Dien Bien Phu booed when Ca Mau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phạm Dong didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ca Mau's zone, Nguyễn Ritchell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Chung came out of the goal and Nguyễn Ritchell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Ca Mau's Phạm Dong got a free kick in the 66th minute. Trịnh Hung struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Vũ Diem didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ca Mau. The audience was convinced that Trần Minh Phượng's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vũ Diem was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Trịnh Hung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Đặng Tuan Hoang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Đặng Tuan Hoang recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Nguyễn Ritchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ca Mau players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Dien Bien Phu.
