If Phạm Viet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee ignored Tuy Hoa's protests and gave Văn Tấn Dũng a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th match minute, Tuy Hoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Văn Tấn Dũng to maneuver through the defense. Ngô Quang Thanh was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lý Hong Minh. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Trần Teo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hoang Anh Gia Lai's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Teo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ngô Quang Thanh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 20 minutes into the game, Phạm Viet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nguyễn Nga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Văn Tấn Dũng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Nguyễn Nga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ngô Quang Thanh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Hong Minh's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Văn Tấn Dũng got his second yellow card in the match during the 33rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 33rd match minute, Tuy Hoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Văn Tấn Dũng to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th match minute, Hoang Anh Gia Lai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Hong to maneuver through the defense. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hoang Anh Gia Lai! After 38 minutes of play, Tuy Hoa's Đặng Phuc made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Nga was left in no man's land by his defense there! 41 minutes into the match, Hoang Anh Gia Lai's Nguyễn Hong Minh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ngô Quang Thanh narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Trần Teo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ngô Quang Thanh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Phạm Van Tai Em made a kick off. Phạm Van Tai Em recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Hoang Anh Gia Lai's zone, Phạm Viet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Nga came out of the goal and Phạm Viet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tuy Hoa's Ngô Quang Thanh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Teo in the 59th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Tuy Hoa's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Teo came free, but Ngô Quang Thanh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute Tuy Hoa were awarded a corner. Đặng Phuc went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Tuy Hoa's corner Huỳnh Duong fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nguyễn Nga quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Huỳnh Duong managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tuy Hoa's supporters rose to their feet, but Huỳnh Duong was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Nga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tuy Hoa's Ngô Quang Thanh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Hong Minh in the 71st minute of play. When Hoang Anh Gia Lai's Trần Teo in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tuy Hoa's goalie prevented a goal. Phạm Van Tai Em recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Nga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Phạm Van Tai Em went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Trần Teo struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Ngô Quang Thanh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hoang Anh Gia Lai. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Phạm Viet during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 88 played minutes Tuy Hoa got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Viet. Nguyễn Hong Minh struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Ngô Quang Thanh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hoang Anh Gia Lai. Ngô Quang Thanh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Teo, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Nguyễn Hong Minh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Tuy Hoa walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
