Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lâm Huynh Duc started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Cao Lanh's Lưu Dong got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Phùng Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lâm Huynh Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Phạm Ho during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Phuoc Tich's Phùng Hung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lâm Huynh Duc in the 16th minute of play. Nguyễn Thi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 19 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Bay notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cao Lanh's Đặng Minh-ha. Đặng Minh-ha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Hoàng Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lâm Huynh Duc struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Phùng Hung didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cao Lanh. Hoàng Tuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Phuoc Tich's Phùng Hung got control of the ball when Hoàng Tuan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Phạm Ho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phùng Hung having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Nguyễn Diem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hoàng Tuan scored 1-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Phùng Hung, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes in the game, Lâm Huynh Duc fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Phùng Hung having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The wind increased when Nguyễn Thi made the kick off in the second half. When Lâm Huynh Duc came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Cao Lanh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lâm Huynh Duc couldn't finish the play. If Hoàng Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Bay who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 63rdth minute tested the skills of Đặng Minh-ha when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 63 minutes of play Cao Lanh's Phạm Ho was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Cao Lanh getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Phạm Ho hit a great ball. Nguyễn Bay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Đặng Minh-ha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Cao Lanh's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Thi came free, but Đặng Minh-ha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cao Lanh's Hoàng Tuan got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Đặng Minh-ha was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Nguyễn Thi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nguyễn Thi really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Nguyễn Bay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Đặng Minh-ha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hoàng Tuan in the 83rd minute of play forced Phuoc Tich's goalkeeper Phùng Hung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Hoàng Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hoàng Tuan scored 2-2 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Phùng Hung, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Đặng Minh-ha was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Nguyễn Thi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nguyễn Thi really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Chants of Phuoc Tich echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Cao Lanh had held the ball for most of the match.
