After having played for 13 minutes, Lâm Huynh Duc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cao Lanh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lâm Huynh Duc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Tinh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Đặng Minh-ha made a huge save. 17 minutes into the game, Lâm Huynh Duc cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Dương Tho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dương Tho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hoàng Tuan in the 20th minute of the match. Hoàng Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dương Tho having to interfere. When Hoàng Minh Phượng fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tuy Hoa's protests and gave Hoàng Minh Phượng a yellow card for diving instead. After 25 played minutes Tuy Hoa got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Minh Phượng. Dương Tho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hoàng Tuan in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hoàng Tuan in the 29th minute of play forced Tuy Hoa's goalkeeper Dương Tho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Hoàng Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lâm Huynh Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Dương Tho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dương Tho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lâm Huynh Duc in the 36th minute of the match. Tuy Hoa's Nguyễn Tinh got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 41 minutes, Nguyễn Tinh made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Cao Lanh's Đặng Minh-ha tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Bùi Lien hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Lâm Huynh Duc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dương Tho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lâm Huynh Duc made a kick off. Nguyễn Tinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Đặng Minh-ha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lưu Lan in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Đặng Minh-ha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 63 minutes into the game, Bùi Lien was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tuy Hoa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cao Lanh the free kick. In the 63rd minute, Bùi Lien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the game, Tuy Hoa's Nguyễn Tinh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Đặng Minh-ha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Cao Lanh's zone, Hoàng Minh Phượng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Đặng Minh-ha came out of the goal and Hoàng Minh Phượng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79thth minute of the game Lưu Lan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cao Lanh's Đặng Minh-ha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hoàng Tuan did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-3 to the left of a surprised Dương Tho 82 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Hoàng Tuan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 88th minute Hoàng Minh Phượng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Đặng Minh-ha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hoàng Tuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lâm Huynh Duc in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dương Tho saved Tuy Hoa from getting behind.
