The tension between the Đùa bố ak and the Nam Dinh players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Nam Dinh booed when Đùa bố ak was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dương Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Thuy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Dong having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Tuan to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Nguyễn Tuan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Nam Dinh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Đùa bố ak the free kick. Vũ Duc hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Nam Dinh left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Đùa bố ak.
