Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gia Nghia's Lê Phuoc started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Lê Pham came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Ba Ria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lê Pham couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Gia Nghia's Lê Nguyet got control of the ball when Đặng Ritchell tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11thth minute of the game Lê Phuoc who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ba Ria's Nguyễn Thuyet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Đặng Ritchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 22 minutes into the match, Gia Nghia's goalkeeper Lê Nguyet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Đặng Ritchell. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Hồ Quang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ba Ria's supporters rose to their feet, but Hồ Quang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Nguyet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ba Ria! 34 minutes into the match, Gia Nghia's goal looked a bit too open when Hồ Quang came free, but Lê Nguyet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Đặng Ritchell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lê Nguyet was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 41 played minutes Ba Ria got a freekick which was hit by Hồ Quang. After a rather tough play, Ba Ria's Hồ Bien got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute, Phùng Bay sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ba Ria's Nguyễn Thuyet didn't even have to move. If Vũ Chuong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hồ Quang was the one to do the kick off. With his leg Nguyễn Thuyet managed to avoid a goal in the 51stth minute, when Gia Nghia's Tạ Phuong fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 55th minute, Gia Nghia's Lê Phuoc ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nguyễn Thuyet. Nguyễn Thuyet yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Lê Phuoc did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Nguyễn Thuyet 60 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Thuyet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Phuoc in the 65th minute of play. If Lê Phuoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Lê Phuoc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Thuyet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 90 played minutes Gia Nghia got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Minh Phượng. When Ba Ria's Hồ Quang in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gia Nghia's goalie prevented a goal.
